Shift Sub-Requsts in the Mobile App

The HydroApps mobile app makes it fast and simple for staff to request shift substitutions directly from their schedule. Whether staff need coverage for school, appointments, or unexpected schedule conflicts, shifts can be posted for substitution in just a few taps.
Accessing Your Schedule
To request a shift substitution:
Open the Scheduling Dashboard
Tap My Schedule
From there, staff can view upcoming assigned shifts and select the shift they need covered.
Requesting a Substitution
To put a shift up for substitution:
Tap the shift you want covered
Select Request Sub
Add optional notes or comments
Tap Submit
Confirm the request
Once submitted, the shift is officially posted for substitution within the system.
Adding Notes to the Request
Staff can include optional notes explaining why coverage is needed, such as:
School events
Appointments
Vacation
Personal conflicts
These notes can help supervisors and coworkers better understand the request.
Suggested Replacement Feature
HydroApps can also suggest potential replacement staff members based on scheduling availability.
If enabled, staff may:
Select a suggested replacement
Send a direct notification asking that employee to cover the shift
Suggested replacements are based on users whose availability allows them to work the shift.
If no specific replacement is selected, the request can simply be posted for general pickup by eligible staff.
Viewing Existing Substitution Requests
After submitting a request, staff can review previously submitted substitution requests directly within the app.
This allows users to:
Track open requests
Review pending coverage needs
Confirm submitted substitution requests
