Logging Pool Tests in the Mobile App

The HydroApps mobile app makes pool testing fast, simple, and accessible from anywhere in your facility. Staff can quickly enter chemistry readings, receive instant alerts for out-of-range values, log chemical adjustments, and automatically calculate water balance directly from their mobile device.

Starting a Pool Test

There are two ways to begin a pool test in the HydroApps mobile app:

Option 1: Quick Input Button

  1. Tap the Quick Input (+) button at the bottom of the screen

  2. Select Pool Test

  3. Choose the correct facility

Option 2: Navigation Menu

  1. Open the Navigation Menu in the bottom left corner

  2. Tap Pool Test

Both methods provide access to active tests, previous entries, and new test creation.

Entering Pool Test Information

Once you begin a test, HydroApps automatically populates the current scheduled testing time. If needed, you can manually adjust the test time to reflect when the reading was actually taken.

Enter your pool chemistry readings, including:

  • Free Chlorine

  • Combined Chlorine

  • pH

  • Alkalinity

  • Other configured chemistry values

HydroApps automatically performs calculations for you as values are entered.

Out-of-Range Alerts

If any reading falls outside of your configured range limits, HydroApps will automatically highlight the value so staff can immediately identify issues requiring attention.

If pool test alerts are enabled, staff may also receive in-app notifications when out-of-range conditions are logged.

Additional Questions & Chemical Logging

Depending on your facility’s setup, you may also be able to:

  • Answer custom operational questions

  • Log chemicals added to the water

  • Add comments or notes related to the test

Once complete, tap Save and Exit to store the entry.

Resuming & Reviewing Pool Tests

Pool tests can be reviewed or resumed at any time within the app. This allows staff to continue unfinished entries or review previously logged readings throughout the day.

Logging Custom Time Entries

If you need to enter a test outside of the scheduled testing intervals:

  1. Tap the green + Begin Pool Test button

  2. Select the actual test time

  3. Enter the chemistry readings normally

This helps maintain accurate operational records even when testing occurs at non-standard times.

Water Balance Calculations

When logging water balance information, HydroApps automatically:

  • Pulls in the current chemistry data

  • Calculates water balance values

  • Displays alerts and tooltips for conditions needing attention

This helps staff quickly evaluate overall water quality and make informed treatment decisions.

Finalizing the Test

After entering all required information:

  1. Review the readings

  2. Confirm any alerts or adjustments

  3. Tap Finalize to complete the pool test entry

All data is automatically saved and accessible through both the mobile app and web platform.
