Managing passwords efficiently is crucial for maintaining the security of your HydroApps account, especially when you have multiple staff members with varying levels of access. As an admin or manager, you may need to help your team stay secure by managing their login details. In this post, we’ll guide you through how you can change passwords for users in roles lower than yours and also how your staff can change their own passwords.

How Admins Can Change Passwords for Users with Lower Access Levels

Admins have the ability to change passwords for users with lower access levels, such as Facility Managers, Pool Managers, and Staff Members. If one of your team members has forgotten their password or needs a reset, you can modify it directly in the user settings.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Navigate to User Settings: In the admin dashboard, open the user account you want to modify.

  2. Edit User Information: Scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll find the password field.

  3. Update the Password: Enter a new password and click "Update and Save." The user will be able to log in with the new password immediately.

How Managers Can Assist Staff in Changing Passwords

Managers also have the ability to assist users with lower access levels. If someone at the facility needs a password reset, managers can guide them through the process, ensuring the account remains secure.

For managers or staff members, here’s how to update your password:

  1. Log into Your Account: Go to your profile settings.

  2. Click on Update Contact Details: This option will allow you to modify your contact information and password.

  3. Change Your Password: Under the password section, type in a new password of your choice and save it.

Security Best Practices for Password Management

Maintaining strong, unique passwords is essential to ensuring the safety of your account. We recommend the following practices:

  • Use complex passwords that are difficult to guess.

  • Change your password regularly, especially if you suspect any security breaches.

  • Educate your team about safe password practices and encourage them to use secure passwords for their accounts.

Why It's Important to Change Passwords Regularly

Changing passwords is a simple yet effective way to prevent unauthorized access to your system. Whether it's a routine security measure or the result of a staff member leaving or a forgotten password, regular updates help maintain a secure environment for all users.
